Birthday Butt
My beloved turns two today. He is naughty and wild and funny and loud. Sometimes more than I can handle, always his own person. I freaking love this kid.
Behold the power of two -
Powdering his nose...
And his clothes.
Potty seats double as hats!
In true pirate form, he stole a birthday cupcake off the counter yesterday. Full on sneak attack while I was doing laundry. I tried to be mad, but I was just too damn proud.

Mackay
This weekend Gustard and I took a trip to Mackay for "camping" with my dad, other mom, and Lindsay. I say "camping" because they have an awesome fifth-wheel, full water and electrical hook-ups, and a laundromat. It's super rough.
We had a great time chatting and eating, and dad took us on an accidental four hour drive on Saturday afternoon. We didn't get lost so much as I just don't think he realized how far we were going. It was a really pretty drive, until we started down the GIANT MOUNTAIN with CLIFFS ON THE SIDE and a BARELY ONE LANE ROAD. I was combination car sick/panic attack stricken. Good times.
We did have some excitement Saturday night when my darling baby sister had a pretty scary allergy attack. Within a matter of minutes her entire body was covered in itchy hives and her lips and eyelids were swollen to three times their normal size. She (and everyone) was pretty freaked out, so mom and I loaded her in the car for a trip to the emergency room in Arco. It was not a fun 25 minute drive. The hospital staff was super nice, and they took care of her quickly. Two benadryl, a shot, and one hot doctor later she was as good as new.
Aside from the baby boy cutting a molar, and therefore being a total jerk all weekend, it was very fun. I forgot my camera, like I always do when it's really important that I bring my camera, so Lindsay took a few pics of Gus. I can't figure out how to save them in my computer for some reason - but you can view them here.
One more thing, on Friday night some deer came pretty close to us and Gus kept saying "horses". Awesome.

The Bat Man
*I have a new husband ya'll. And it is Christian Bale. I saw TDK this morning, and aside from the nerd herd yelling "KICK HIS ASS BATMAN!" in the front row it was completely and totally awesome. That's really all I can say about it. Oh, and Christian Bale is hot.
* Ignore what his lower lip is doing in this photo.

Hawkeye
We got some kick ass seats at a Boise Hawks game Monday night because we are very important members of the business community (or Chris is. whatever.).
Here is Griffin telling the team how big his fish was.
We saw a lot of butts. No good ones.
It was hot.
We are not a fan of mascots. Not one bit. They are creepy and annoying and stupid.
We are however, a fan of Drumsticks and old dirty Vans.

Sentence
I went to read Griffin one of his favorite books last night and saw that he had drawn over the faces of all the animals with pen. He was proud. He kept pointing to his art and telling me "color! color!", like "man I hope the fact that I'm adorable keeps me from getting in trouble for this". And then he said, with perfect clarity, "I color a pig". He said an entire sentence! That made sense! And he was pointing to a pig!
Proof that even if you're a mediocre parent your child will eventually speak in coherent sentences. Yay for giving it half-your-all!

Why it works...
D: "So, can I go to the gym tonight?"
Me: "Uh, yeah? Why are you asking me that?"
D: "I thought you had plans after work. Are you going anywhere?"
Me: "Yeah - up your butt and around the corner."
D: "Can we ever have an adult conversation?"
